Conventional dentures are made in either acrylic or acrylic on a metal framework. These dentures can be made either on the NHS or privately.

Metal based dentures have better retention than acrylic dentures but sometimes they have visible metal clasps.

There are several options for replacing missing teeth depending on the situation, both dentally and financially. Bridgework, Implant retained dentures or a fixed prosthesis on implants may be an preferred option, however is not always possible.

We find that a popular option for patients is a flexible partial denture.

Sunflex® dentures are lightweight, flexible and more comfortable than conventional dentures. They have gum coloured clasps rather than metal and this helps make the denture more invisible.

We can create partial dentures that match a patient’s natural tissue tone. They can be combined with a cast metal partial framework for enhanced stability.

Unfortunately these dentures are not available as an NHS treatment.

They cost from £300 depending on design.
